  • MY WAY 19…Do we need “recycled” politicians?

    Do we need “recycled” politicians?

I have been reading and observing that the recycling of politicians is really overwhelming in these days. Ex representatives, ex city council members and other political figures are fighting to continue to vampirize the system and guarantee for themselves, not for the people, their own future. I cannot understand how some people can be so naïve and continue to vote for these people that have done nothing but enrich themselves and make a career out of the exploitation of the community. I know that term limits is out of the question, because when they are no good where they were before, they continue to run for other positions to continue to do no good. This has been evident in state, county and city government.

I believe that it is time to think of politicians as some “gods” of the world. They are just humans like the rest of us and should learn to live like the rest of us. Don’t be afraid to challenge them.

Even though I am nonpartisan (I offend everybody equally), I half to agree with the statements that we made by Warren Buffett in his proposed Congressional Reform Act of 2011. Here it is if you have not seen it before:

    1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
    2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
    3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
    4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
    5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
    6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
    7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

This should also apply to the State, City and County governments.

Let’s wake up and demand we change our country. Oust all recycled politicians, no matter what position they are running for. We need NEW ideas and less corruption.

    See you next week!!

  • My way 18 WHICH IS THE MOST ARROGANT NATION IN THE WORLD?

WHICH IS THE MOST ARROGANT NATION IN THE WORLD?

Have you ever thought about this? I found an interesting website that made a study to find out which country is the most arrogant in the world*. They start this analysis making an interesting statement; “Many nationalities of this world can appear arrogant as a stereotype. It all depends on ones point of view. One insulting country is another country’s friend. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter etc. Here, they have tried to make this ranking a bit of fun. I hope nobody is offended, then again…i don’t care. Which is the most arrogant nation on earth?”

Fun? Yes but, arrogance is not a virtue. It is more a defect. Arrogance is something you need to do when you feel inferior than the rest of all. Some define arrogance as a “weapon” used by people and cultures to hide their real identity. Think about this befor you want to sound arrogant in your next conversation.

Anyway the study concluded that, out of all the votes received, the top ten are:

      Country

    Flag

    Score*

    1.

    USA

  • MY WAY 17 The governor trying to “idiotize”the people of Florida

AGAIN, THE GOVERNOR TRIES TO”IDIOTIZE” US

It is with disbelief but without doubt that you can expect our governor to think the people of Florida are idiots. This governor has now decided to convince us that he is some kind of health savior and is putting at risk the lives of many for his own political gain. He has told our poor and underprivileged that he will not expand health insurance through Medicaid even though the federal government is paying almost entirely for the plan.

I don’t know; can you believe a governor that was part of a hospital fraud of millions of dollars? Can you believe a governor who “purchased” the elections in order to win? Can you believe a governor that wanted to impose drug testing, benefiting him economically?  No wonder we need a reform in our health systems, people like him are the ones that are running up the tab and benefiting economic interests like pharmaceutical companies and others. We definitely needed something as a starting point to reform the abuse of the health system to those that can’t afford to make them more profitable. One thing is to be profitable and another is to steal.

The time has come for health reform and the time has come for the near minded people like the Governor of Florida to understand that in no way form or circumstance you can treat the people of Florida like idiots. Your record of doing NOTHING for the poor and disenfranchised of this state speaks for itself. I am sure that, in the same way you wish the President be a one term President, a lot of people hope and are working to make you a one term Governor.

Please show some respect. It’s the least you can do.

    See you next week.
